One person killed in Johnson County crash following high-speed police chase
Authorities said at about 2:30 a.m. the Westwood, Kansas Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle for traffic charges on Shawnee Mission Parkway near Belinder.
Police officers attempted to stop Grant Oliver McClure for traffic charges on Shawnee Mission Parkway, but instead of pulling over he pulled into a local business' parking lot then quickly exited back onto the street, hitting another vehicle. He then accelerated to a very high speed and attempted to flee police on Norwood Street. The chase ended when he struck two parked cars and two trees. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No one was hurt in the earlier accident.
