Dozens of hogs killed when truck veers off road in NE Iowa
Authorities say about 60 hogs died when a truck hauling the animals veered off a highway in Fayette County and rolled onto its side. The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports the crashed happened Sunday afternoon on Highway 187 south of Arlington. The sheriff's office says 45-year-old Scott Childers was driving a truck hauling the hogs when he veered onto the shoulder and lost control. The trailer eventually came to rest on its side in a ditch.
