Neither semi lost its load in the crash. Two lanes of eastbound I-80/94 remained closed as of 8:40 a.m.
An Indiana man driving commercially for UPS died and a Chicago trucker was cited after a fatal three-truck crash on the Borman Expressway in Indiana at about 3:45 a.m. in Gary, Indiana. A 2010 Kenworth truck lost control and spun out, and then was hit on the rear driver’s side by a 2014 Volvo semi truck. The Kenworth traveled across all lanes of traffic before crashing into the concrete barrier and hitting a disabled 2006 International semi. The UPS truck's driver was Marvin Reinholtz, 38 of Osceola, Indiana, who was ejected from the truck and pinned by his own vehicle.He was pronounced deceased at the crash site. The Kenworth driver, Ismael Flores, 32, of Chicago, was not injured and was ticketed for unsafe lane movement. The Volvo semi was driven by James Bauer, 58, of Pinconning, Michigan, who escaped uninjured.
