Amanda Williams, 19, from Woodstock, was killed when she drove into a Metra train Wednesday evening. The crossing gates were functional at Lily Pond Road and the Union Pacific Northwest Line tracks. A witness said it looked like Williams was attempting to stop her vehicle, but said it appeared that the brakes on Williams’ 2003 Toyota Camry did not work. It was snowing lightly at the time, with some snow on the roadway. Williams was the only occupant of the car.
