Jacksonville woman dies in crash in St. George

A Jacksonville woman died Monday night after her SUV left the roadway and struck a tree in St. George in southern Charlton County, the Georgia State Patrol said. Charlton Count EMS took Murphy from the scene, the state patrol said. George about 6:40 p.m. when it left the roadway, traveled about 125 feet on the right shoulder and struck a pine, Trooper Sherman McClain said in his report. The Jeep then traveled another 43 feet before coming to rest in a parking lot, McClain said in his report.
