Fiery crash kills 1, closes Bryan Dairy Road in Pinellas Park
According to police, it appears a vehicle was traveling possibly northbound on the U.S. 19 frontage road at a high rate of speed and stuck one of the support pillars under the overpass on Bryan Dairy Road, at which time the vehicle caught fire. At least one person was killed. Police says it’s unclear if more than one person was in the vehicle.

The person was not immediately identified. Officers said the car was travelling at a high speed on the frontage road before the crash about 3 a.m. The car then caught fire, according to police.
Local responders asked for an inspector from the state Department of Transportation to assess the overpass for any damage.
