A toddler died and an infant injured when a woman allegedly driving drunk with twelve people in an SUV crashed on I-75 in Manatee County on Saturday. Shameka L. Jones, 24, was the driver of a Ford Expedition on I-75 at 5 p.m. when she swerved onto the shoulder. The SUV rolled multiple times and crashed into trees. Three adults and nine children were in the vehicle, and none of the children were in car seats. Isaac Solomon, 2, was pronounced deceased at South Bay Hospital, and Issah Solomon, 6 months old, was transported to All Children's Hospital with serious injuries. The remaining children were transported to hospitals with minor injuries. Jones and two other adults, Shawana Jones, 25, and Leonard Green, 44, were hospitalized with serious injuries.
