Pedestrian struck, killed on U.S. 301 in Dade City

A pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck and killed on U.S. 301 just after midnight Sunday, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Jose David Funes, 30, of Dade City was standing in the outside northbound lane of the highway approaching Long Avenue when he was hit by a Dodge Ram driven by Juan Martin Ibarra, 29, of Dade City. Funes died at the scene. No charges were filed.
