Family, friends mourn Pasco teen killed in car accident

"I think that would be a good way to have some influence on kids while they're young enough to be influenced," she told her father a month ago. She couldn't wait to be a foster mom and have kids of her own, he said.

Jordan Ivie died Sunday after a car accident in Dade City Friday. Ivie and her boyfriend, Austin Council, 16, were running an errand in at about 11:30 a.m. when Council, who was driving, veered off Smith Road to avoid an oncoming vehicle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The car strucck four trees before coming to a stop. Ivie was to St. Joseph's Hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery to relieve pressure on her brain, but she died of her injuries on Sunday. Council suffered a broken arm. Both teens were wearing seat belts, and alcohol is not suspected.
