Motorcyclist killed by hit-and-run driver in Mulberry

A motorcyclist was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Mulberry on Friday night, the Polk County Sheriff's Office said. The motorcyclist, whose identity has not been released, was struck from behind on Bailey Road, between Wells and Davis roads, around 11 p.m. The other driver fled, and the motorcyclist died at the scene. Witnesses reported seeing three vehicles in the area around the time of the crash: a Ford F-150 or F-250 with with lifts and chrome wheels and rims, a dark compact car and a blue car. Investigators are asking anyone with information about the crash to call the sheriff's office at 863-298-6200.
