2 killed in Sanford wrong-way crash

Authorities with the Florida Highway Patrol are investigating a crash that killed two people on State Road 417 on Friday night. Officials said Alexis McMillin, of Sanford, was driving the wrong way near Rinehart Road. Investigators determined McMillin's car hit another vehicle and came to rest on top of a guardrail. A third driver was unable to avoid the wreck and hit the guardrail, Florida Highway Patrol Sgt. Troopers do not know why McMillin was driving the wrong way.

Two killed, two injured in S.R. 417 crash

Two people were killed and another two injured in a wrong-way crash on State Road 417 around 11:30 p.m. Alexis McMillin and one of her passengers, 16-year-old Austin McMillin, both of Sanford, died at the scene of the crash, Montes said. Passenger Devon Campo, 15 of Winter Springs, and the Kia driver, 29-year-old Jamie O. Rojas, had serious injuries. A third driver, a Casselberry man trying to avoid the crash, swerved into the guardrail and some debris, Montes said. The impact heaved the Chevrolet on top of a guardrail, Montes said.
