Pedestrian struck and killed in Jacksonville Beach

An unidentified pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Jacksonville Beach early Sunday morning, according to the Jacksonville Beach Police Department. A pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene where he or she was struck, on 4th Avenue North at 2nd Street North. JBPD reported that no arrest had been made as of early Sunday morning, but expects to issue an update on their investigation sometime on Sunday. An unidentified pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle early Sunday morning in Jacksonville Beach, according to the Jacksonville Beach Police Department. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene near 4th Avenue North and 2nd Street North. Charges are pending against the driver of the Expedition as investigators await toxicology results and speed calcuation results. That's when the driver struck the pedestrian, a palm tree and a parked Honda Civic, then continued on and rear-ended a JTA Trolley bus before coming to a final rest. There was one passenger aboard the JTA Trolley at the time of impact, but that passenger was not injured.

Driver of SUV in Jacksonville Beach pedestrian fatality identified by police

Police have identified the driver of a sport-utility vehicle that struck and killed a 24-year-old visitor to Jacksonville Beach early Sunday. Deborah Allison Brewer, 45, of Atlantic Beach was driving the Ford Expedition that jumped a curb onto a sidewalk, striking Michael Allen Gunderson of Mindoro, Wis., shortly after midnight, according to Jacksonville Beach police. It then struck a palm tree and a parked Honda Civic and rear-ended a JTA Trolley bus before stopping, police said. Toxicology tests are being done, police said.

Woman accused of fatally hitting pedestrian in Jacksonville Beach still able to drive

A woman accused of hitting and killing a vacationer in Jacksonville Beach with her SUV over the weekend still has not been charged. Blue marks show the SUV'€™s path on the sidewalk, where Deborah Allison Brewer is accused of hitting 24-year-old vacationer Mike Gunderson. On Monday, tire tracks could still be seen in the grass where the SUV jumped the curb onto a sidewalk along Fourth Avenue North and Second Street North. Police say after all that, Brewer then struck a parked car and a trolley across the street before finally coming to a stop. Action News has learned it could be weeks before police file charges.
