A woman was killed Thursday morning when her SUV crashed into the back of a stopped school bus at the intersection of U.S. 301 and County Road 1471, south of Waldo, in Alachua County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Mersha N. Edwards was driving on U.S. 301 when she struck the back of a school bus that had stopped to pick up children. The bus had its signal lights activated at the time of the crash. None of the students were injured, but Edwards died at the scene.
