A school bus carrying children crashed into a home in Stamford early Friday afternoon.
Stamford Bus Driver Suspended After Crash Sends 9 Students to Hospital
Police said Friday evening that the bus driver, a 35-year-old Norwalk resident who works for the First Student bus company, was suspended following the collision.

“We’ve got a driver that reporting mechanical defect. Initial indications here at the scene are that the defect she’s described is not relevant to the crash,” said Stamford police Sgt. Andrew Gallagher. “We’re having the vehicle taken from here to an impound facility where there’s a bus inspector from the State of Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles waiting to go over the bus.”
A school bus carrying kids crashed into a home around 1:10 p.m. near Vine Road and Barmore Drive. A dog walker was inside the house that was involved in the collision. No one was seriously injured, but everyone was taken to the hospital as a precaution. Police say the crash was not weather related. More infor will be added to this story once it becomes available.
