Middletown and state police, along with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are on the scene conducting their investigation.

Steel worker killed in industrial accident in Middletown

“The worker was moving heavy sheet metal on one of those those sliding cranes when the beam ran into building and the metal banged one employee who was, severely injured,” Santostefano confirmed.

A man, identified now as Strycharz, has died after an accident at an industrial plant in Middletown Friday morning. Just before 9:00 a.m., police and fire crews responded to a call of an accident at Primary Steel on Newfield Street. Police in Middletown, Connecticut reported that workers at Primary Steel on Newfield Street were moving pieces of steel inside the building when an accident took place that left one man dead. The workers were apparently loading the steel onto a truck at the time.
