Riley David Young, 17, and Wyatt Richard Nykamp, 34, dead; James Young critically injured in high-speed crash after suspect flees police on 8th Street and Highway 85 in Greeley, Colorado

GREELEY - Greeley Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of the driver in a fatal wreck on Oct. 2 at the intersection of Highway 85 and Eighth Street. Wyatt Richard Nykamp, 34, will face vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, felony eluding, reckless driving, driving under revocation and red-light violation charges. Police concluded that Nykamp fled the attempted traffic stop by the officer for a red-light violation and continued driving eastbound on Eight Street at speeds exceeding 80 mph. Nykamp is still in the hospital, as is the passenger in the vehicle he collided with - James Young. He drove into Riley Young's vehicle in the intersection.

GREELEY, Colo. (CBS4) '€“ A driver involved in a deadly collision last Friday in Greeley now faces charges that include vehicular homicide. Police say on Friday night Wyatt Nykamp crashed into a car being driven by Riley David Young, 17, of Strasburg. Young died and his father was critically injured. Nykamp, who remains in the hospital from injuries sustained in the crash, faces a total of six charges.

Nykamp had been charged in the crash with vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, eluding, reckless driving, driving under revocation and running a red light. Wyatt Richard Nykamp died Monday as a result of critical injuries he sustained in the Oct. 2 wreck Greeley police said Wednesday a 34-year-old man accused of killing a teen boy earlier this month in a two-vehicle crash has also died. "Nykamp remained in critical condition since (the crash) and did not regain consciousness," police said. Riley Young, 17, was killed after the vehicle he was driving was hit by Nykamp's car.

GREELEY, Colo. (CBS4) – A driver involved in a deadly collision on Oct. 2 in Greeley has succumbed to his injuries. Police say on that night Wyatt Nykamp crashed into a car being driven by Riley David Young, 17, of Strasburg. Young died and his father was critically injured. Nykamp was hospitalized for his injuries until Tuesday when he died. Nykamp had faced vehicular homicide charges in connection to that deadly crash.
