Wichita man killed in rafting accident in Colorado

The U.S. Geological Survey said Clear Creek was running about 300 cubic feet per second Saturday afternoon, which is 130 percent of its normal median flow. The sheriff’s office says Cheong was on a commercial trip operated by Mile-High Rafting.

Clear Creek rafting victim identified

The victim of the July 4 rafting accident was identified as 20-year-old Daniel Cheong from Wichita, Kansas on Tuesday. The Clear Creek County Coroner's Office and Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office identified the victim and said the cause of death is still undetermined. According to Clear Creek County, on July 4 at noon, Cheong fell into Clear Creek near mile marker 259 of US 6. Cheong was pulled from the water and given CPR.
