David Sotelo, 23, killed in auto wreck on state Highway 24 in Orinda, California

At least one person was killed when a Cadillac crashed and overturned just east of the Caldecott Tunnel Wednesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash was reported at 2:49 p.m. on eastbound state Highway 24 near Wilder Road, on the edge of Orinda, CHP officials said. The tan Cadillac flipped and landed on its roof off the right side of the highway, according to the CHP. It might have crashed into another car nearby but investigators are still looking into how the crash happened. One person in the Cadillac was killed.

ORINDA -- Authorities have identified the Antioch man who died Wednesday in a rollover crash on Highway 24. Authorities are investigating whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident, a CHP spokesman said. David Sotelo, 23, died in the accident near the Caldecott Tunnel, a Contra Costa County Coroner's Office spokesman said. The fatal crash occurred around 2:45 p.m., when Sotelo was driving in a gold 2002 Buick on eastbound Highway 24, said California Highway Patrol Officer Ron Simmons. The Buick then hit an embankment and catapulted into the air, ejecting the driver from the vehicle, Simmons said.
