Victim of Lake County rollover crash ID'd

A rollover crash in Lake County over the weekend claimed the life of a 35-year-old Oakland woman. The CHP said the woman, who was a passenger in a 1996 Honda Accord, was pronounced dead at the scene of the Sunday evening crash on Highway 29 in Lakeport. He overcorrected and lost control of the Honda, which skidded across southbound lanes, striking a curb and dirt embankment, the CHP said. The driver of the car, Ioan C. Gruia, 31, ofSan Francisco, was flown to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Gruia and his passenger had their seat belts on, the CHP said.

Palo Alto woman identified as victim in fatal Lake County crash

The victim of a fatal vehicle crash in Lake County over the weekend was Maki Mitsuya, 35, of Palo Alto, according to the Lake County Sheriff'€™s Office. Mitsuya was a passenger in a 1996 Honda Accord driven by Ioan C. Gruia, 31, of San Francisco, according to the CHP. The car overturned several times after the driver lost control of it on Highway 29 north of Lakeport Sunday evening. Mitsuya was pronounced dead at the scene. She and Gruia were wearing seat belts and alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the crash, the CHP said.
