The driver pulled over on the right shoulder of SR-94 and stepped out of the car to help the woman. His red Kia was struck from behind, killing the Lyft driver. All three passengers were still inside the car when officers arrived at the scene.

The suspect vehicle fled the crash but was located down the freeway embankment. The occupants inside the suspect vehicle fled the scene but were taken into custody near 28th and G streets, according to CHP.
