Bicyclist Struck, Killed By Garbage Truck In West Sacramento
The scene is along the 2000 block of West Capitol Avenue. Police responded just after 8 a.m. Wednesday and found that a garbage truck had struck a bicyclist.

"Kentaro was an outstanding scientist and a well-like faculty member," said Joe DiTomaso, professor and interim chair of the Department of Plant Sciences. "He was always positive and friendly and will be missed both for his research and his personality."

Inoue taught at UC Davis since 2002, most recently in the Plant and Environmental Sciences Department, where he conducted research in plant biology and worked on projects with a select group of graduate students in his lab. Yoder said he also taught lecture style classes with between 150 and 200 students at a time.
