Distinguished UCLA professor killed in King City collision Monday

An accomplished professor from ucla was killed in a head-on collision late Monday night on U.S. Highway 101 in King City. "He's someone who was always had interesting ideas and was a very original guy in all his work," Knobler said. At UCLA, Reiss was not known as a "charismatic" professor and was "pretty demanding," Knobler said. Reiss worked briefly at Boston University from 1949 to 1951, UCLA officials said. Reiss became professor emeritus in 1991, university officials said.
