Driver fatigue may have caused California crash
A tour bus that was slated to travel from Los Angeles to Pasco, Washington was involved in two crashes in one day, one of which killed a man and injured many other people. The bus reportedly crashed into a Denny's restaurant in Red Bluff, fortunately injuring no one but causing some damage to property. The second crash occured when the bus rolled over just off of Interstate 5 near the California-Portland border in the town of Pollard Flat. One man died at the scene, and his identity will be released once his next of kin are notified. Two people were reported in serious condition, three in serious condition, and at least 23 others were hospitalized. The bus was reportedly operating without a safety rating, and driver fatigue was likely a contributing factor in the crash.
The driver was been identified as 67-year-old Jose Victor Garcilazo Palencia of Los Angeles. The man killed is Octaviano Garcia of Parlier, California.
