A hit-and-run driver was being sought after fatally striking a man crossing the street in Whittier Saturday night, officials said. The crash occurred around 9 p.m. near the intersection of Pickering Avenue and Hadley Street, according to the Whittier Police Department.

Marquez turned himself into authorities Wednesday morning at the Glendora Police Department, and was transferred to Whittier Police, where he was booked on charges of felony hit-and-run. If convicted, Marquez could face a fine of up to $10,000 and up to three years in a state prison.
