Driver Sought After Man Struck, Killed in Whittier Hit-and-Run Crash

A hit-and-run driver was being sought after fatally striking a man crossing the street in Whittier Saturday night, officials said. The crash occurred around 9 p.m. near the intersection of Pickering Avenue and Hadley Street, according to the Whittier Police Department.

Police said 30-year-old Randy Marquez is a "person of interest" in the hit-and-run.

Police say Randy Marquez, 30, fatally struck Victor Gallegos near Pickering Avenue and Hadley Street around 9 p.m. Saturday.

SUSPECT ARRESTED AFTER KILLING ARMY VET VICTOR GALLEGOS IN HIT-AND-RUN

Marquez turned himself into authorities Wednesday morning at the Glendora Police Department, and was transferred to Whittier Police, where he was booked on charges of felony hit-and-run. If convicted, Marquez could face a fine of up to $10,000 and up to three years in a state prison.
