Aldon Smith, San Francisco 49ers linebacker, arrested for suspected hit-and-run in Santa Clarita, California

San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith was arrested Thursday night on suspicion of hit-and-run, driving under the influence and vandalism, according to the Santa Clara Police Department. He was booked into jail this morning on $26,000 bail, according to jail records. 

Police in Northern California have arrested San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith for hit and run, drunken driving and vandalism. Josh Bentley, a lawyer who represented Smith previously, also wasn'€™t immediately available for comment Friday. 

San Francisco 49ers outside linebacker Aldon Smith was arrested by Santa Clara, Calif., police on Thursday night on suspicion of hit-and-run, DUI and vandalism. The weapons charges and one of the DUI charges were in connection to a 2012 party at Smith's residence where he was stabbed. Smith received a 12-day sentence and three years of probation in July following a no-contest plea to three felony weapons charges and two misdemeanor DUI charges. The Santa Clara Police Department said the 25-year-old was booked on Friday with a bail of $26,000. General manager Trent Baalke recently said the 49ers had plans to keep Smith after restructuring his $9.75 million contract this season.
