California Highway Patrol says a man and two children were killed at around 1 a.m. when their white Honda sedan crashed into the back of a semi trailer, which was parked in a brake check area off of the Golden State Freeway (Interstate 5) near Castaic Lake. Authorities are saying that Alan Dean Edwards, 46, deliberately killed himself and his two young children, Erick Edwards, 9, and Alona Edwards, 5, because of a custody dispute.
