The CHP says that the FedEx driver told investigators he was trying to pick up keys he dropped which is what caused him to drift towards the marine vehicle. CHP has stated he was at fault in the accident. 

Marine killed in rollover identified

Cooper was a motor vehicle  operator with 2nd Transportation Support Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 2, 2nd Marine Logistics Group. He joined the Marine Corps in 2014, and was promoted to his current rank on Sept. 1, 2014. 
FedEx driver Randall A. Villareal of Yuma said he drifted into the oncoming lane on Ogilby Road about 25 miles from Yuma Tuesday morning, where he collided with a 7-ton Marine Corps vehicle. The military vehicle overturned, a its 20-year-old driver, reportedly from Sacramento, was killed. Another Marine in the vehicle, 20-year-old Heraclio Juarez of Long Beach, was hospitalized for lacerations to his head and right leg. We'll update this story as new details emerge.
