DPS officer injured in collision NW of Tucson
An Arizona Department of Public Safety officer had to be extricated from his vehicle following a collision with a tractor-trailer rig northwest of Tucson on Friday, authorities said.

DPS says the officer is 31 years old and has been with the department for eight years. He was driving on the far left lane when the semi-trailer pulled into his path from the emergency lane.

The officer had a DPS K-9 with him that appeared to be uninjured. Emergency responders were waiting for another K-9 officer to take the dog.
Just after 10 a.m., a DPS officer was traveling on Interstate 10 at West Tangerine Road when he was involved in a collision with a semi truck. The officer had to be extricated from his vehicle using the Jaws of Life tool. The driver of the truck, Thilankas Silva, 41, was not injured. The officer's service dog, who was in the vehicle at the time of the accident, was not hurt.
