Lake Havasu City police released the name of a man who was killed in a traffic accident Sunday.

According to a news release, Washburn was driving east on McCulloch at high speeds when he struck a 2001 Dodge Dakota driven by 20-year-old Courtney Barker.

Police Investigate Fatal Traffic Accident in LHC

Investigators determined that a 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by 41- year old Michael Washburn was traveling eastbound on McCulloch Boulevard at a high rate of speed when it struck the rear of a 2001 Dodge Dakota pickup truck which was also traveling eastbound on McCulloch Boulevard.

Michael Washburn was driving his motorcycle at a high rate of speed on McCulloch Boulevard in Lake Havasu City. When his motorcycle rear-ended a pickup truck, Washburn sustained serious injuries that cost him his life. He died about 3 and a half hours later at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The driver of the pickup was not hurt.
