Person dies in Sterling Highway head-on crash

Troopers at 5:35 a.m. took a call of the crash at Mile 90. Officers found one person dead at the scene. The name, age and gender of the person were not immediately released.  

Woman dies in Sterling Highway head-on crash

SOLDOTNA, Alaska (AP) — A 19-year-old Soldotna woman died Monday in a head-on crash on the Sterling Highway. Troopers diverted traffic around the crash scene to side roads. Troopers at 5:35 a.m. took a call of the crash at Mile 90. Alaska State Troopers say Raquelle Reynolds was alone in sport utility vehicle that crashed about five miles south of Soldotna with a pickup driven by 59-year-old Randolph Carlyle of Soldotna. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
