2 injured after small plane crashes in north Ala.

Officials say two people have been hospitalized with serious injuries after a single-engine plane crashed in north Alabama.

The four-seater plane hit the ground nose first. The front end was smashed and the propeller was embedded in the ground. The rest of the plane appeared mostly intact. It did not catch on fire.

"The tire took out the power line and it made a big shock and you could see the electricity," Murrah said.

Officials said two people were on board when the plane went down on approach for landing, hitting power lines in the process. The owner of the air strip where the landing was attempted said the plane caught wind.
Dr. Max Boone was piloting his Pipe Cherokee 180 when the aircraft clipped a power line and struck the ground nose-first. Fortunately, the plane did not catch fire. Both people were transported to a hospital in Huntsville. More information posted as it is released.
