A 51-year-old pedestrian was killed Thursday night when he was hit by a car in eastern Jefferson County.

Boyle was a New Jersey native, but had moved to Alabama. He had served in the U.S. Navy, according to his obituary.

Bruce Allan Boyle was born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey on September 2nd, 1963 and passed away in CenterPoint, AL on June 4th, 2015 at the age of 51. Bruce proudly served our country in the United States Navy and he was a resident of Alabama for many years.
Just after 8:30 p.m. Bruce Allan Boyle was attempting to cross Center Point Parkway when he failed to see an oncoming vehicle and stepped in front of it. He was transported to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
