Interstate 55

The driver will not be charged with a crime, according to a post made by Jackson police to the social media website Twitter. Neighbors said they've seen crashes before but nothing like this despite the fact that people commonly run across the road. 

Illinois State Police is reporting four people were killed in an accident on Interstate 55 involving at least one semi-trailer truck and three autos south of Chicago in Will County.

The fatal accident Monday afternoon occurred on I-55 near Arsenal Road in Elwood.

The Plainfield teen who was killed early Sunday on Interstate 55 has been identified. An autopsy showed Anthony G. Hernandez, 16, was struck by multiple vehicles at 1:49 a.m. a half-mile south of Black Road.
