Cyclists Gather to Remember Two Lost Lives

"I knew there were going to be cyclists showing up, but I had no idea there were going to be this many,” says Kevin Bessett, President of the Green Mountain Bike Club. “I think I'm going to have goose bumps for the next week." 
The name of the teen driver killed in Sunday morning's crash on Route 116 is Joseph Marshall, 17, of Hinesburg. First responders performed CPR on both people, but both were pronounced deceased at the crash site. Police said alcohol or drug use is not suspected as a factor in the crash. Authorities said the driver lost control of vehicle, collided with the bicyclist along the shoulder, and then struck a tree.  The identity of the bicyclist has not yet been released.
