“According to witnesses, the driver of the Pontiac Grand Prix had a green light to go eastbound on Bangerter Highway and the driver of the Hyundai Sonata had a red light and passed through that red light,” said Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal.

One dead another critically injured in Bluffdale accident

Taylor Zimmerman of Lehi, was ultimately pinned inside her vehicle. It took fire crews some time to extracate her from the car and she was transported to The University of Utah Hospital  where she later died from her injuries. 
Taylor Zimmerman, 20, of Lehi, was killed Saturday and several people were injured in a car crash at the intersection of Redwood Road and Bangerter Highway in Riverton, Utah. The crash occurred at approximately 4 p.m. when a Hyundai Sonata traveling north on Redwood Road ran a red light and collided with a Pontiac Grand Prix.  Zimmerman, the driver of the Hyundai, was transported to University Hospital where she later died. A 10-month-old boy in the backseat her car suffered minor injuries. The 28-year-old female driver of the Pontiac was transported to Intermountain Medical Center in serious condition, and an 11-year-old passanger was taken to the hospital in fair condition. A 5-year-old girl also in the Pontiac was treated at the scene and released. It is not yet known if drugs or alcohol use are a factor in the collision.
