UPDATE: I-65 S reopens in Bullitt Co. after crash that killed 1, injured 2

SHEPHERDSVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Southbound Interstate 65 has reopened in Bullitt County after a three-vehicle crash on the Salt River Bridge that killed one person and injured two others. The crash, which happened about 4:45 Friday morning, shut down all southbound lanes of I-65 at mile marker 116, and it remained closed until just before 9 a.m. The name of the third driver, who was killed, has not been released. A second driver was taken by private vehicle to Jewish Hospital with minor injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation. One person dies after multi-vehicle crash on I-65S in Bullitt County

It happened around 4:40 a.m. near Exit 116. According to Officer Ken Bernardi with the Shepherdsville Police Department, several vehicles were involved. The driver of one of the vehicles was killed after being thrown from from their vehicle. 

Man killed in I-65 South crash identified

The victim has been identified as Nathaniel Brown III, 32, of Louisville.  Police said Brown was traveling to work when the crash happened. He was not wearing a seat belt, pronounced dead at the scene.
