Shirley Hawkins, who lives nearby, said she came out after she heard the crash. "And when I came outside I noticed that it was right here and I'm like 'oh my God!'" she said. "I was like 'oh my god this is bad this is really really bad.'"
Young men killed in Lexington crash identified by coroner
The Fayette County coroner, Gary Ginn, has identified two men killed in a head-on crash in Lexington.
The crash happened about 3:15 p.m. Versailles Road and Terrace View Drive, when a person driving a Hyundai and three people were riding in a Honda Civic when they collided head-on. Both of the people who died were in the Civic, and two others were injured. The driver of the Civic, Logan Hayes of Versailles, was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene, while Christopher Sterry of Lexington died at the hospital. Alcohol may have been a factor.
